Youth Mural Art Program (Sept 2024)

Led a youth mural program at the Eno Arts Mill that supported Studio Be, a new programming initiative where the participants were historically underrepresented youth ages 13-24, prioritizing LGBTQ+, justice impacted, BIPOC and other youth who experience barriers to access to the arts and supportive mentor/peer opportunities.

Master Artist Visit from India (July 2024)

As chair of Leela Foundation (a local art-based nonprofit), I envisioned and brought to fruition a visit of Anil Vangad, a master tribal artist from India. His 5-day visit to the area was full of activities that brought the art community together.

Teaching Artist 2024-25

Accepted as a Teaching Artist 2024-25 for the Artists in Schools program through United Arts Council that places teaching artists in schools across Wake County.

Roots & Wings - Mural in Morrisville, NC (June 2024)

Chosen to paint a mural for the Town of Morrisville at the MAFC (Morrisville Aquatics & Finess Center). The finished mural, in the Gond style of art from the tribes in Central India, has been quite appreciated by the MAFC patrons as well as the community.

Uproar Outdoor Art Festival (July 2023)

Chosen to be one of 60 artists for the first outdoor “Uproar Art Festival” hosted by the Orange County Arts Commission. I painted 4 sarees in 4 different art styles from India.

Chapel Hill Trail Mural (May 2023)

Painted murals in the Warli style on 3 concrete pipes at the Lower Booker Creek Trail in Chapel Hill, commissioned by the Town of Chapel Hill.

Morrisville Restaurant Mural (Sept 2022)

Painted a 26’ bright, colorful mural in a Morrisville restaurant called “Chaat Mandi”. The mural depicted delicious street foods offered by various parts of India.

Solo Exhibit at Durham Arts Council (July 2022)

Solo exhibit at Durham Arts Council from July 15 - September 08, 2022. I displayed over 25 works of art in two different styles of folk art from India – Warli and Mithila art.

Learn, Grow, Fly - Mural at Cary Academy (May 2022)

Commissioned by Cary Academy to create a 4’ x 6’ mural in the Mithila art style. I worked with the student leaders of the Inclusive Art Committee and their art teacher, Karen Rose, to decide on the theme of the mural – based on education and learning.

Downtown Raleigh Kiosk Art (Sept 2021)

Accepted as one of 9 artists whose work is displayed at art kiosks on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh, under the umbrella of Raleigh Arts.

Chapel Hill Bus Shelter (Aug 2021)

Accepted art for a bus shelter at Airport Gardens Apartments on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. as part of the Art + Transit initiative run by the Chapel Hill Community Arts & Culture.

The Art of the Warli Mural (Sept 2020)

Accepted as a mural artist for Season 3 (Summer 2020) of the Public Space Project run by Downtown Durham, Inc. The mural located in downtown Durham depicts the history of Durham and was painted in September 2020, using the Warli art style, a tribal art form from India.
